Simple habits for a better skin

Skinmalism, or how to treat our skin with effective simplicity?

We share with you some tips to better care for the skin on the face, which is more fragile than the skin of the rest of the body. The appearance of puffiness, dark circles under the eyes, sagging and dull skin are part of a natural process that differs from person to person. Nevertheless, lifestyle, genetics, the exercise we do with our facial muscles, and the cosmetics we use can make all the difference. Besides daily cleansing and moisturizing, here are some other habits that can help you achieve beautiful skin: we believe that the care and attention we give our skin lead to visible results!

The "100 Splashes" Method

I recently discovered this rather simple but highly effective method, which consists of washing your face with very cold water: in the morning and/or evening, add a few ice cubes to a basin of water and splash your face 80 to 100 times. For more details, here.

Benefits (proven by me):

  • Improves your complexion
  • Reduces puffiness of the eyes and dark circles
  • Refreshes the skin and reduces the appearance of pores
  • Improves acne
  • Wakes you up (if you do it in the morning) and improves your mood!
Gua-sha

Used in traditional Chinese medicine, Gua Sha is a massage technique done with the help of a stone of the same name, designed to relieve tension in the muscles of the face (excellent for headaches and tight jaws), stimulate blood circulation, and encourage lymphatic drainage. It gets the energy and blood moving and helps reduce puffiness, like under-eye bags for example. Take the opportunity to create a moment for yourself, even if it's a short one, when you wake up and/or before you go to bed.

Facial Yoga

Facial yoga is a holistic and global method that consists of toning muscles that are flaccid, such as the zygomatic muscle in the cheekbones, and relieving muscular tensions that cause expression wrinkles, such as forehead wrinkles. Thus, this method works the face in a balanced way to make it brighter, smoother, and younger without resorting to expensive cosmetics, plastic surgery, or invasive treatments that are not risk-free, have side effects, and leave the face looking more artificial.

Through facial exercises and massage, there is an improvement in blood and lymph microcirculation at the level of the dermis, which increases the production of collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid, keeping the skin youthful naturally. This improved circulation also increases the effectiveness of the cosmetics used, since they penetrate more deeply. Therefore, I advise the use of good quality cosmetics, free of harmful chemicals for our organism and skin.

To practice face yoga you just need a quiet space, a moment to yourself, your hands, and your moisturizing cream or facial oil. All it takes is 5 minutes a day and you will achieve
- a firmer face
- a smooth and luminous skin
- increased collagen and hyaluronic acid production
- reduction of puffiness, dark circles under the eyes, double chin and sagging cheeks
- reduction of wrinkles
- increased self-esteem.

Here are several rather generous video-tutorials on facial yoga.
